3 people arrested in connection with fatal Hunt Club Road shooting, says RCSD Sheriff
RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Sheriff Leon Lott says 3 people have been arrested in connection with a fatal Hunt Club Road shooting.
On Friday, December 12, shortly before 9:30 p.m., deputies responded in the 7500 block of Hunt Club Road for reports of a shooting.
Upon arrival to the scene, deputies located a man suffering from a gunshot wound to his midsection.
Deputies provided medical aid to the victim until EMS arrived and took the victim to a local hospital, where he later died.
Shortly after investigators arrived to the hospital where the victim was taken, another man with a gunshot wound arrived.
RCSD investigators were made aware the second male had a gunshot wound to the upper body, and was pronounced dead upon arrival to the hospital.
Investigators were able to conclude that both men were related to the same incident, says RCSD.
The deceased man was identified as 17-year-old Michael Mickle, Jr, and RCSD says investigators determined he was one of the suspects involved.
Mickle who was pronounced dead upon arrival to the hospital, was taken to the hospital by three other people identified as 17-year-old Jeremiah Selph, 17-year-old Corey James and 18-year-old Prince-Jay’lan Hutcherson.
On December 15, after further investigation, RCSD says Selph, James, and Hutcherson were each charged with two counts with murder.
All three teens will be charged as adults.
They were booked at Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center on Monday and are still currently detained.
“I’ve said it many times and will continue to say it, guns will only get you one of two places…the cemetery or jail,” Sheriff Leon Lott said. “This should serve as a reminder that you can run and you can hide but we will find you.”
