Trump Media to merge with nuclear fusion company
(CNN)– President Trump’s social media parent company is merging with a nuclear fusion company.
Trump Media and Technology Group announced the surprise deal with TAE Technologies on Thursday Dec. 18.
The news comes as Trump Media’s share price has plunged this year.
The companies said the all-stock transaction is valued at more than $6 billion.
It will create one of the first publicly-traded fusion companies.
TAE says it plans to start construction of the first utility-scale fusion power plant next year.
