President Trump announces Patriot Games

(CNN)– The U.S. is planning to celebrate the nation’s 250th birthday with a national competition called the Patriot Games.

President Trump made the announcement Thursday, Dec. 18.

The games will be held in Washington, D.C., and will be a part of an anniversary celebration initiative called Freedom 250, which was launched Thursday.

Other national events for the year-long celebration are expected to include a state fair on the National Mall, a new arch monument, and a UFC fight event on the White House South Lawn.
