Barnes & Noble to open 60 store in 2026

(CNN)– A once-thriving bookstore is making a major comeback.

Barnes and Noble plans to open 60 new stores across the U.S. in 2026.

The announcement comes after nearly two decades of the company closing stores.

The bookseller told USA Today the expansion follows a period of strong sales in existing stores.

The new locations are expected to open in DC, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Ilinois, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington State.
