Local Living: Capital City Fireworks, Riverbanks Zoo’s lights display
LOCAL LIVING: COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)— In today’s look at Local Living, if you are looking for a local spot to ring in the new year, the City of Columbia will hold it’s annual Capital City Fireworks display New Year’s Eve.
City officials say the fireworks will begin just after midnight.
They recommend gathering on the north side of the State House at Gervais and Main Streets for the best view.
Be advised, some roads in the area will close as early as six, other roads will close at eleven.
Also, good news parking in the Vista will be complimentary beginning at 5 p.m. through New Year’s Day.
Even though Christmas has come and gone there is still plenty of holiday fun in the Midlands.
You can head to Riverbanks Zoo’s annual Wild Lights event tonight, Monday, Dec. 29.
It’s from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on select nights through Jan. 11.
It’s closed on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
