SCDNR closes unnamed WMA Kershaw County after bait found in area

KERSHAW COUNTY, S.C.(WOLO)– The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR) has temporarily closed the unnamed WMA on Buffalo Creek Road in Kershaw County to hunting, say officials.

DNR says the area is closed to hunting after bait was discovered in the area.

Signs for the closure have been posted up.

Officials say the closure will remain in effect throughout the remainder of waterfowl season.

Officers will be closely monitoring the site, and anyone hunting in the closed area will be charged.

SCDNR reminds the public that hunting violations can be reported anonymously by contacting the Operation Game Theif Hotline at 1-800-922-5431 or submitting a tip via mobile phone- text 847411 (TIP411) with the keyword SCDNR and your tip information.
