Sumter Co. deputies searching for 16-year-old seen last month

SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Deputies with the Sumter County Sheriff’s Department say they are searching for a 16-year-old last seen in 2025.

Deputies say 16-year-old Essence Morice was last seen at her Somerset Drive home on December 23, 2025.

She was last seen wearing a black shirt, black sweatpants, and a black coat along with a white bonnet on her head.

Investigators say Morice has short hair with two braids.

The teen is believed to be with her friends in Camden.
