Orangeburg Co. coroner identifies person dead after collision

ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Orangeburg County Coroner Sean Fogle has released the name of the person who died after a vehicle vs pedestrian collision.

The collision happened on Saturday, January 3, 2026, on John C. Calhoun Drive in Orangeburg.

The person was identified as 27-year-old Emoni Nicole Chaplin of Spring Valley Circle in Orangeburg.

Chaplin was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials say the cause and manner of death remains under investigation.
