Stranger Things finale earns $25 million
(CNN)– Fans flocked to the movies to say goodbye to Stranger Things.
Variety, citing sources is reporting theaters earned at least $25 million for showing the finale of the Netflix series on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
The final episode had debuted simultaneously on Netflix and in roughly 600 theaters.
Due to contractual terms residuals, Netflix was unable to charge for tickets.
Instead, fans reserved a seat by buying a concession voucher from the theater.
