Car sales expected to slow as prices rise

(CNN)– Automakers are signaling prices could go up, and sales could go down this year.

In a release out Monday, General Motors says its sales fell 7% in the fourth quarter of 2025.

That’s despite being up 6% for the full year.

Honda and Hyundai also report q4 slumps.

Toyota is an outlier with an 8% increase during the final quarter, but warns prices could rise this year.

Automakers are grappling with new tariffs, and consumer worries about inflation.
