City of Columbia held swearing-in ceremony

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Columbia Mayor Daniel Rickenmann and three city council members were sworn in at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center Monday night, Jan. 5.

Of the three council members sworn in, At-large Councilman Sam Johnson is the newest to take office.

District 4 Councilman Peter brown and District 1 Councilwoman Tina Herbert were also sworn in.

And this marks the beginning of Rickenmann’s second term.

The mayor says he hopes to continue building trust with city residents.

During his speech, Mayor Rickenmann also talked about continuing the Bull Street Redevelopment Project, tackling homelessness, and improving Columbia’s infrastructure.
