CPB closing for good

(CNN)– The Corporation for Public Broadcasting is closing its doors.

Tuesday, Jan. 6, the Corporation’s Board of Directors announced it voted in favor of dissolving the organization following congress’ decision to end its federal financial backing.

The corporation made its debut in 1968 and funded PBS, NPR, and hundreds of radio and TV stations across the nation over the decades.
