LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– A Lexington woman faces charges after deputies say 100 animals were removed from two properties.
Julia Pickett is charged with two counts of felony ill-treatment of animals.
Deputies say in late December, county animal services investigators received information about the conditions of various animals at two properties occupied by Pickett.
The types of animals were not specified.
Investigators say the animals were located and removed.
Some were found dead and deputies say some may need to be humanely euthanized.
All surviving animals were taken to appropriate facilities to receive medical care.
