Richland Co. coroner identifies person dead after DUI crash
RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Richland County Coroner Naida Rutherford has released the identity of the individual who died as a result of a fatal DUI crash that happened on Sunday, January 4, 2026.
Officials say the incident took place on Gervais Street and Park Street.
The victim was identified as Malcolm D. Johnson, 29, of Columbia.
“The loss of Mr. Malcolm Johnson is a heartbreaking tragedy that has deeply impacted his family, loved ones, and our entire community. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone impacted.” Coroner Rutherford states.
The case remains under investigation.
