RCSD: 1 arrested after Wednesday afternoon Percival Road shooting
RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Richland County deputies reopened a road after law enforcement searched for a shooting suspect.
Deputies responded to the area of North Kings and North Trenholm in reference to a shooting victim around 12:30 p.m., says RCSD.
When deputies arrived to the area, they found a person who had suffered a gunshot wound.
Also, deputies learned that the shooting happened at Spring Garden Apartments on 313 Percival Road, but the victim was able to leave the scene in their vehicle.
The victim was taken by EMS to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Sheriff Leon Lott says Daquan Wilson was arrested in connection with the January 7, 2026, shooting.
Witnesses at the scene identified a specific apartment as being involved in the shooting and investigators were able to identify the shooter as Wilson.
The investigation revealed there was an ongoing feud between Wilson and the victim that led to the shooting, according to RCSD.
Just before 10 p.m., Wednesday, January 7, Wilson turned himself in at RCSD Headquarters on Two Notch Road.
Wilson was charged with possession of a weapon during a violent crime, attempted murder, and breach of peace.
He was taken to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center where he is awaiting a bond hearing.
