COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– The SC Department of Justice says a 55-year-old man was sentenced to 40 years after pleading guilty to multiple charges.

Stephen Todd Greene of West Columbia pled guilty to engaging in illicit sexual conduct in foreign places, producing child sexual abuse material, and coercion/enticement of a minor and aiding/abetting.

Evidence obtained during the investigation revealed that Greene initiated an online relationship with a woman in Brazil that had access to two minor females, one was 8 years old, and the other was 2 years old.

Greene is accused of soliciting child sexual abuse images and videos of the minors for his own sexual gratification, which he directed via livestream.

Also, he is accused of later having cameras installed in one of the child’s bedrooms, which provided him with 24/7 remote access to the child.

Investigators say in July 2024, Greene travelled to Brazil and sexually abused one of the minor victims on several occasions.

He also admitted to prior sexual abuse of at least one child in South Carolina.

Upon his arrest, FBI obtained and searched his devices which contained over 250 images and 100 videos of child sexual abuse material.

A United States district judge sentenced Greene to 480 months imprisonment which is to be followed by a 15-year term of court-ordered supervision.

This case was investigated by the FBI Columbia Field Office and the Brazilian Federal Police.
