Driver killed in I-20 collision in Richland County Thursday
RICHLAND CO., S.C. (WOLO) – Highway Patrol says a driver is dead following a collision on I-20 West Thursday.
According to Master Trooper Mitchell Ridgeway, at 3:15 p.m., a 2014 Jeep Liberty was attempting a lane change near mile marker 70, when they struck a 2009 Toyota Minivan.
This caused the Jeep to go off the road and overturn; the driver died on scene from their injuries.
Authorities say the passenger in the Toyota Minivan was injured and taken to the hospital while the driver wasn’t hurt.
The Richland Co. Coroner’s Office is working on identifying the victim.
This incident remains under investigation.
