Law Enforcement Appreciation Day 2026

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Friday, Jan. 9, the nation and the Midlands are honoring those who keep our communities safe.

Today is National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day.

According to the National Day Calendar the unofficial holiday began in 2015.

To mark the occasion many state and local officials took to social media to express their gratitude to the men and women who protect our communities.
