Walk for Peace continues through the Midlands
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– The Walk for Peace continued through the Midlands today.
On Friday, Jan. 9, the buddhist monks made their way through Lexington County.
Deputies and police say they’ve been helping the organizers find the safest routes on their journey.
About two dozen monks and their rescue dog Aloka are on a more than two thousand mile march from their home in Fort Worth, Texas to Washington, D.C.
The March started on October 26 and is expected to take 120 days to reach the nation’s capital.
They will make their way through Columbia tomorrow, Sat, Jan. 10.
