Columbia-Richland firefighters control overnight Broad River Road house fire
RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Columbia-Richland Firefighters controlled an overnight house fire in the Broad River Road area, say fire officials.
First shift crews arrived shortly after 4 a.m. and found a fire on the first floor in a house in the 3700 block of Broad River Road.
Firefighters also found the roof of the home with turbulent black smoke.
Crews entered the home and were able to extinguish the fire showing on the first floor quickly, according to CRFD.
One person escaped the house safely and was taken by Richland County EMS to be checked out.
The fire was brought under control and there were no other injuries.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, says the Columbia-Richland Fire Dept.
