Man accused of shooting after argument with girlfriend, Fairfield Co. deputies say

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)–Fairfield County deputies say a man in custody is accused of attempted murder.

Investigators with the Fairfield Co. Sheriff’s Office says Monday they responded to a possible shooting on True Luck Lane in Ridgeway after Richland County deputies notified them of a female gunshot victim they made contact with in Columbia.

Deputies say they determined the victim drove her boyfriend Balewa Mayo to the address before they got in an argument.

Investigators say Mayo assaulted the victim and fired shots at her as she drove away.

Deputies say Mayo is charged with attempted murder among other charges.
