Columbia PD: 1 arrested after person found with life-threatening injury

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Columbia PD officers have charged an 18-year-old in connection with the Wednesday shooting at Spring Lake Apts. near Garners Ferry Road, say officers.

Police believe there was an altercation between Darius White and the male victim just before the shooting happened on Wednesday, Jan. 14.

White was detained on Tama Road, and questioned by investigators.

Then he was arrested for attempted murder, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

He’s housed at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center, and his bond was denied by a judge.

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Columbia PD officers are investigating after a shooting at a Garners Ferry Road apartment complex, say officers.

The police department says shortly before 3 p.m. officers were dispatched to a shooting at Spring Lake Apts.

When they arrived to the apartment complex, an injured male adult was found outside.

He was taken to a hospital with a life-threatening injury.

Investigators are questioning people in the area.
