Sumter Co. traffic stop leads to narcotics arrest

SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Deputies said a search for a vehicle with a stolen license plate results in an arrest.
Joseph Charles Pack of Sumter was arrested for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.
Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 14, 2026, Sumter County deputies were alerted to a vehicle in the area with a stolen license plate.
Deputies initiated a traffic stop after the vehicle was found on Kolb Road.
The driver of the vehicle who was identified as Joseph Charles Pack of Sumter admitted to investigators to having narcotics inside the vehicle, which deputies located.
Pack was also cited for driving with a suspended license, operating a vehicle with a license registered to another person, and operating an uninsured vehicle.
Sumter Co. Sheriff’s Office deputies took Pack to the detention center where he is being held on a surety bond.
