SC Women to play as scheduled
USC SID-After careful review of multiple weather forecasts over several days and discussions with the SEC and both programs, and based on information available this afternoon, the women’s basketball game between No. 2/2 South Carolina and No. 5/4 Vanderbilt will be played as scheduled on Sun., Jan. 25, at 3 p.m. at Colonial Life Arena. The Athletics Department will continue to monitor weather conditions and provide any additional updates via its official website (GamecocksOnline.com) and its social media channels.
With various weather expected throughout the Southeast, fans should monitor local media and social media to determine if it is safe for them to attend the game. Those that choose to attend should be especially careful in parking lots and entrances around the arena as some areas may be slippery due to precipitation and be patient if staffing throughout the arena is affected by conditions.
Due to the expected colder temperatures, University-controlled parking lots will open at noon. Arena doors will open as regularly scheduled at 2 p.m. with Fast Break Pass entry beginning at 1:30 p.m.
Concessions stands will be open with the number of open stands based on the vendors’ ability to adequately staff them based on weather and road conditions.
