DPH confirms second Winter storm-related death in SC

LEXINGTON, S.C. (WOLO)– The SC Department of Public Health (DPH) has confirmed a second winter storm-related death that happened over the weekend, according to officials.

Health officials say on Sunday, January 25, 2026 an 83-year-old woman in Lexington County died from hypothermia while outside.

The first reported death was a 96-year-old woman in Greenwood County who died of hypothermia Monday.

Both women’s deaths were confirmed by each county’s local coroner.
