President Trump threatens 50% aircraft tariff on Canada
(CNN)– President Trump’s disagreements with Canada took a new turn Thursday, Jan. 29, this time over aircraft.
On Truth Social, the President said he will decertify all Canadian-made aircraft in the United States.
Until American-made gulf-streams are certified in Canada.
He also threatened to impose a 50% tariff on all Canadian airplanes sold in the U.S.
The president singled-out bombardier’s global express business jet, but said all Canadian planes would be impacted.
It’s unclear whether President Trump has the power to legally decertify aircraft.
