SCEMD moves to op-con two ahead of this weekend’s forecast of Winter weather

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– The South Carolina Emergency Management Division (SCEMD) has moved to op-con two ahead of this weekend’s forecast of Winter weather.

Officials say the designation reflects a higher level of readiness among emergency response teams statewide.

Officials also remind you to be Winter weather ready by staying off of the roads if at all possible.

Practice heating safety by keeping space-heaters away from anything that can easily catch on fire.

Also make sure you have at least three days of food and water available.
