Districts announce return to schools after weekend Winter snow storm
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– After the snowy weekend the Midlands seen many schools decided to change to eLearning.
But as the snow melts away, school districts are announcing their return to classrooms.
Kershaw County School District:
- All schools in the district will be on a regular school schedule on Wednesday, February 4, 2026.
- After-school activities and events will also resume on Wednesday as well.
Lee County School District:
- Lee County School District will return to normal operating hours on Wednesday, February 4, 2026.
- All schools, offices, and departments will resume their regular schedules, and staff members are expected to report to work at their normally assigned times.
Clarendon County School District:
- Clarendon County School District will operate on a two-hour delay tomorrow, February 4.
- All schools, offices, and bus routes will begin two hours later than the normal start time.
School District of Newberry County:
- School District of Newberry County will be closed Wednesday, February 4.
- No e-Learning will take place, according to district officials.
Fairfield County School District:
- Fairfield County School District will operate on a two-hour delay on Wednesday, February 4, due to ice on secondary roads.
- Students should report two hours later than their usual arrival time, and bus riders will be picked up two hours later than normal.
Richland School District Two:
- Richland Two schools, centers, and administrative offices will resume a regular schedule tomorrow, Wednesday, February 4, 2026.
- On Wednesday, February 4, 2026, all schools and offices in Sumter School District will operate on a regular schedule.
