Alex Murdaugh appeal hearing approaching

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– SC Supreme Court will hear arguments in Alex Murdaugh’s appeal of his double murder conviction this Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2026.

The hearing is set to start at 9:30 a.m.

Murdaugh, who was convicted of killing his wife and son filed the appeal in 2024.

His legal team believes he deserves a re-trial based in part due to misconduct by Former Colleton County Clerk of Court Becky Hill.

Hill was accused of showing sealed court exhibits to a photographer.

She pleaded guilty to charges including obstruction of justice, perjury, and misconduct in office.
