USC player arrested after traffic stop, Richland Co. deputies say

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– RCSD says a USC football player has been arrested after a traffic stop Tuesday afternoon.
According to Richland County deputies, around 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2026, they made a traffic stop in the area of Bluff Road and S Stadium Road for an improper display of a vehicle tag and a window tint violation.
After smelling the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle during the traffic stop, a search was conducted of the vehicle.
During the search, about 20 individual bags of green plant material consistent with marijuana were found inside the vehicle, says the sheriff’s dept.
A firearm was also found during the search and seized due to its proximity to narcotics.
The driver who was identified as USC Football Player Davonte Miles was placed under arrest and charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana (first offense).
He was taken to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center where he is awaiting a bond hearing.
