Fetus found at water treatment plant, Sumter Co. deputies say
SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Sumter County deputies say an investigation is being started after a fetus was found at a water plant on Friday morning.
Authorities say around 11:28 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 13, deputies were dispatched to a water plant after a report of a fetus being discovered by workers.
Deputies responded to the Edgehill Road location and confirmed that there was a human fetus.
The fetus was taken to the Medical University of South Carolina.
Sheriff Anthony Dennis requested assistance with the investigation from the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED).
