FDA recalls 25K+ peanut butter items
(CNN)– The Food and Drug Administration updated an existing peanut butter recall.
More than 22,000 affected single-serve products were distributed to 40 states including South Carolina.
They include both peanut butter packets and small cups containing both peanut butter and jelly.
The products were produced by Ventura Foods and sold to distributors, mostly under private label brands.
The problem is pieces of blue plastic were found in a filter at the facility where they are made.
The FDA’s new designation for the recall is class two.
