Lexington County Coroner releases name of person who died in two-vehicle collision

LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the person who died in a two-vehicle collision on Friday, said the coroner’s office.

The two-vehicle collision happened in the 1900 block of Calks Ferry Road in the Lexington area on Friday, on February 13, around 5:20 p.m.

According to Coroner Fisher, Michael James Turner, 65, of Gilbert was traveling westbound on Calks Ferry Road when he crossed left of the center, hit a vehicle that was traveling eastbound on Calks Ferry Road, and then hit a tree.

Turner was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the other vehicle was not injured, said the coroner’s office.

The Lexington County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol are continuing to investigate the incident.
