USGS confirms 1.9 earthquake near Irmo

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– According to the South Carolina Emergency Management Division, a 1.9 magnitude earthquake hit the Midlands over the weekend.

Officials say the earthquake occurred around 11:57 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 15, 2026.

The United States Geological Survey reports the earthquake was centered about 3 miles west-southwest of Irmo.
