Late Rep. Joseph Neal’s family, friends continue his fight to reduce health disparities

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– The family and friends of a late state representative are continuing his fight against HIV and Aids in South Carolina.

This afternoon, Feb. 19, the Joseph Neal Health Collaborative held a news conference.

Since its founding, the group says it has worked across the state to reduce health disparities, address rising rates of HIV, Hepatitis C, Syphilis, and Diabetes, and ensure that individuals and families can access care regardless of their ability to pay.

Representative Neal died suddenly due to natural causes in 2017, leaving a legacy of service in the South Carolina House.
