ABC Columbia’s Curtis Wilson receives the Order of the Palmetto!

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – ABC Columbia’s very own Curtis Wilson has received the state’s highest civilian honor!

Curtis was awarded the Order of the Palmetto Thursday.

Among the hundreds of jobs he has, Curtis is also a long-time deputy with the Richland County Sheriff’s Department.

The Sheriff’s Department had this to say about the honor:

Tonight we proudly celebrated Deputy Curtis Wilson as he received the Order of the Palmetto — South Carolina’s highest civilian honor.
This award recognizes a lifetime of service and impact, and Curtis embodies both through his dedication to our community and the profession he represents so well.
Curtis, we are incredibly proud of you. Your commitment, integrity, and heart for others make a difference every single day — and tonight’s recognition is so well deserved.

Recipients must be nominated to receive the Order of the Palmetto, which is awarded by the Governor.
