Fatal collision between electric scooter & vehicle on Monticello Road

RICHLAND CO., S.C. (WOLO) – Highway Patrol says one person is dead following a collision between an electric scooter and a vehicle Thursday night.
It happened at the intersection of Ridgeway Street and Monticello Road at 8:20 p.m.
According to Master Trooper Hannah Davidson, a 2003 Nissan Mirano was travelling north on Monticello Road and a Nova electric scooter was travelling west on Ridgeway Street when they collided.
The rider of the scooter was taken to the hospital where they died from their injuries.
The Richland County Coroner’s Office has not released the victim’s identity as of late as the investigation continues.
