Local Living: Read Freely Fest, Keep the Midlands Beautiful, St. Pat’s in Five Points

 

 

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)— In today’s look at Local Living, Read Freely Fest returns to the Richland Library next month.

The free event features talks with best-selling authors, book signings, and interactive activities that take you beyond the pages.

This year’s lineup includes Congressman James Clyburn.

It takes place March 27 through March 29.

 

Keep the Midlands Beautiful is still hosting its annual shoe drive.

It runs through April 30th.

You can donate new or gently worn shoes at their office on Augusta Road in West Columbia.

The drive helps raise funds to support the non-profit’s litter prevention, recycling and beautification efforts.

 

Due to weather, the official kickoff event for St. Pat’s in Five Points has been postponed.

The new date is Monday, March 2 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Main Fountain Plaza where the fountain will be dyed green

It’s free and open to the public.

 

The St. Pat’s in Five Points event starts Saturday, March 14.

The Columbia RV Expo is rolling back to the state fairgrounds this weekend.

It’s from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 27 and Saturday, Feb. 28, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 1.

It’s $10 at the gate.
