Midlands man charged with fentanyl-induced homicide

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– A Midlands man has been charged with a fentanyl-induced homicide.

Deputies with the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office say William Kennedy was charged following a recent overdose death in Winnsboro.

Investigators say he is also charged with trafficking meth and distribution of fentanyl.

Last year the state Senate passed a law creating a criminal statute for fentanyl-induced homicide.
