SLED charges Newberry Co. man with assault & battery

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– A Newberry County man is charged with assault following a 2025 shooting.

SLED says in May of 2025 Tobias Daniels was involved in an argument at a home in Saluda County.

Investigators say at one point during the disupte, Daniels left and returned with a handgun and fired in the direction of those he was arguing with prompting an exchange of gunfire.

No one was injured but officials say several vehicles and homes were struck.

Daniels was arrested last week and booked into the Saluda County Detention Center.
