RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– SCDOT says the department is implementing a new traffic pattern for traffic turning onto I-77 Southbound from US-21 Southbound in Richland County.
Beginning on Thursday, March 19, a new single left turn lane with traffic signals will open on US-21 Southbound onto a new on-ramp to I-77 Southbound.
A new yield sign will be installed on the existing on-ramp from US-21 Northbound to I-77 Southbound, says the Department of Transportation.
The existing loop ramp from US-21 Southbound will be closed and demolished.
Additionally, two new left turn lanes and new traffic signals will open at the I-77 Northbound off-ramp to US-21 (Exit 24).
SC Department of Transportation says the existing free-flow right turn lane will not be impacted by this change.
Drivers are asked to slow down and pay attention to the new traffic patterns when driving through the area.
