Gas prices continue to rise as war in Iran continues
Columbia, S.C. (WOLO,CNN)– Gas prices continue their upward trajectory for the 13th day in a row.
According to AAA, the average price of regular in South Carolina is now $3.35 a gallon.
That’s up five cents from Thursday and more than 30 cents from a week ago.
At the center of its price spike is the strait of Hormuz off the coast of Iran.
The country’s new supreme leader vowed Thursday to keep it closed.
Energy Secretary Chris Wright has suggested the Navy might be able to start escorting ships through the waterway later this month, but that is not guaranteed.
