Orangeburg Co., S.C. (WOLO)– Orangeburg Co. Sheriff Leroy Ravenell says a man is charged in a Friday the 13th shooting that left him hospitalized.
“This was certainly this individual’s unlucky day,” the sheriff said. “The only way he was lucky that day was because he wasn’t killed.”
Investigators say Marquise Fairey, 20, is charged with two counts of attempted murder, discharging a firearm into a vehicle, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
According to deputies, on March 13 Fairey attempted to rob a woman and her son who were in their car at a gas station on Magnolia St.
Investigators say Fairey fired shots into the car, the woman’s son returned fire striking Fairey in the abdomen.
No one in the car was hurt.
