Greenville Businessman Billy Webster announces run for governor

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Another candidate is running for the Democratic nomination for governor.

Wednesday, March 25, 2026, Greenville Businessman Billy Webster announced his intent to seek the state’s top office.

Webster says his top priorities will be rebuilding the state’s infrastructure, protecting clean water, and conserving natural resources.

Webster says he can’t be bought and will only work for the people of South Carolina.

Other Democratic candidates for governor include Representative Jermaine Johnson and Charleston Attorney Mullins McLeod.

The gubernatorial primary will take place June 9 and the general election is November 3rd.
