NASA plans to build moon base
(CNN)– Tuesday, March 25, NASA outlined a plan to build a permanent base on the moon.
The agency says the goal is to strengthen U.S. leadership in space by establishing a sustained human presence.
The plan includes more frequent missions initially targeting landings every six months.
It will roll out in phases starting with robotic missions then building infrastructure and later enabling long-term stays on the moon.
The first crewed moon missions since the 1970s are set to begin next year.
