SC House passes boat tax reduction

 

 

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Tuesday, March 24, 2026, House lawmakers unanimously passed a bill to cut South Carolina’s boat property taxes.

It cuts the highest-in-the-nation boat property taxes by 50% and establishes the simple principle of “one boat, one bill.”

The bill now heads to Governor McMaster’s desk to be signed into law.
