SLED: 22 dogs rescued, Saluda Co. man charged with dogfighting

Saluda Co., S.C. (WOLO)– Investigators with SLED say Devante Scott, 31, is charged with Animal Fighting and Ill-Treatment of Animals.

Officials say on Tuesday, SLED executed a search warrant at Scott’s home in Saluda Co.

Officials say they found 22 pit bull type dogs, many with scarring or open wounds.

According to investigators, the dogs also had inadequate housing and were being held with heavy logging chains.

Scott was booked into the Saluda County Detention Center.
