President Trump’s economy approval rating falls

(CNN)– President Donald Trump’s approval rating on the economy has dropped to a new low, according to a CNN poll.

Just 31% approve of his handling of the economy while roughly two-thirds say his policies have made conditions worse.

That frustration is being driven in part by rising costs including gas prices topping $4 a gallon nationwide.

Only 27% approve of how he’s handling inflation, a sharp drop from 44% a year ago.

Strong approval is slipping even among republicans with nearly 3 in 10 saying his policies have worsened the economy.
