SC Senate rejects OBBA Tax Conform Bill
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– SC Senators rejected a bill that would have conformed with the current Internal Revenue code including The One Big Beautiful Bill Act.
The bill failed with a vote of 16 to 27 with opponents arguing it would have cost the state hundreds of millions in revenue.
The federal tax breaks would exempt taxes on overtime and tips and reduce income taxes across the board.
The state Department of Revenue has extended the tax filing deadline from April 15 to October 15.
This applies to the 2025 South Carolina Individual Income Tax Returns.
