Palmetto Cash 5 Jackpot winner to retire

MANNING, S.C. (WOLO)– A Midlands man plans on retiring after winning the lottery, say officials.

“I’m getting ready to retire, and this helps,” the winner told South Carolina Education Lottery officials.

The winner grew his nest egg with the help of his Palmetto Cash 5  $160,000 jackpot earnings after picking out the ticket one morning in Manning.

That ticket surprised him by matching every single number drawn on March 20 to win the jackpot, SC Lottery officials say.

“My wife wasn’t too upset about it either,” he laughed.

For selling the claimed ticket, Stop & Go in Manning received a commission of $1,600.

The odds of winning a Palmetto Cash 5 jackpot are 1 in 850,668.
